Some have labeled him the “weak link”. Some have look at him as small and mismatched. Some have been brave enough to test him..
Few have reaped any success.
What’s The Scenario? It doesn’t really matter.B.J. Roseburgh is ready.
There is a phrase in “SCENARIO” by A TRIBE CALLED QUEST that says;
“But we’ve been known to do the impossible”
All 5’10 150 pounds of Spartanburg Defensive Back B.J. ROSEBURGH knows exactly how to ruin an opposing teams night by doing what doubters have said was impossible.
Just ask Byrnes and Dorman.
“I knew going into the Byrnes game I was going to be a target every time I was in the game”,Roseburgh said.”I just kept calm and tried to make big plays for the guys beside me”.Roseburgh had a game sealing Interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter,”When I caught the interception against Byrnes it was no surprise, I just had to make the first guy miss then it was all sideline from there”,he said.

Dorman didnt fare much better.B.J. SAID,”The rivalry win against Dorman was a big team win! This game was big for me because it was my first varsity start versus Dorman. Personally, I feel I would’ve had a better game but this game help me become a better player but an even better person.”
Roseburgh had 2 INTs, 2 pass break ups, 1 forced fumble, and 4 tackles
Not a bad night for the “weak link”.
Born in Spartanburg SC on November 17, 1999. B.J.grew up on the North side of Spartanburg. Son of Bobby Roseburgh & Shenatha Goggins. He is only boy .He has 3 sisters,2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Before every game You can find B.J. listening to Kodak Black. He also take a few minutes to listen to a Ray Lewis inspirational speech.”Those rituals get me hyped up.They get me focused on who I am and what I have to do individually and as a teammate.”
During B.j.’s Freshman year when he got the chance to be apart of a state championship team.Which is a confidence builder in itself.Roseburgh spoke of another moment that was near and dear to him on a different level,”My sophomore year I got to play in a game with my step brother Louis Rogers(Wingate) and caught my 1st varsity interception in the 1st round playoff game.I hold that as something special.”
Spartanburg defensive backs Coach Brandon Turner said,”He is making the most of his opportunity. He works hard in practice on his technique and footwork.B.J, makes the practice drills show up on game film.”
When I asked Roseburgh about the upcoming game against Boiling Springs he quickly let it be known he knows whats at stake,”Going into the Boiling Springs game we know they are a pretty good team and if we win this game we are the Region III 5A Champs.” He continued,”I wouldn’t be surprised if they label me as a target this week we just have to buckle up and play as a team like we’ve played the last few games.”
Some have labeled him the “weak link”. Some have look at him as small and mismatched. Some have been brave enough to test him…
Few have reaped any success.
“I think teams underestimate me because of my size but it doesn’t phase me. I love being underestimated or labeled as the “weak link” because when I make a big play it just makes it look that much better!!!”
NO MATTER WHAT’S THE SCENARIO.
