Jackson Eubanks: Tell The World

“Jackson Eubanks, I’m 16 years old, and I pretty much come from generations of football families so i was pretty much born into playing football.”

What a great first impression. That’s a borderline Super Power..to have the ability to just blow people away with a statement that is both so open to interpretation but yet very absolute. Much like Music and Lyrics of Lecrae.

Lecrae, is an American Christian hip hopartist, songwriter, record producer and actor. He is the president, co-owner and co-founder of the independent record label Reach Records, and the co-founder and president of the non-profit organization ReachLife Ministries. To date, he has released seven studio albums and three mixtapes as a solo artist, and has released three studio albums, a remix album, and one EP as the leader of the hip hop group 116 Clique. He produced much of his earlier material along with other early Reach Records releases. Lecrae, in reference to his label as a Christian rapper, has stated that his music is just hip hop, though it reflects his Christian faith. In May 2016, Lecrae signed to Columbia Records in a joint deal between his label and Columbia.

Give it a Listen..I did. Now back to Vikings..

The 5’11 223 pound Junior Center for The Spartanburg Vikings is showing us Viking Fans the start of something great. We are Watching History and Tradition, both family style.

“My dad and uncle both used to play for the Vikings back in the day. My dad (Douglas Eubanks) was the starting center for the Vikings throughout his high school career and ended up playing college ball at Elon College, and my uncle (Jacky Eubanks) was one of the linebackers for the Vikings and ended up playing football at Newberry college.”

“Outside of school and football, I’m a member of the track team and throw shot put and discus”,Jackson said.”I also enjoy watching other sports play on T.V and sometimes play video games.”

Sounds like a kid being a kid to me.I like watching sports on T.V. and playing video games, too. I guess I’m still at kid a heart. There’s something really cool about seeing a kid who enjoys being a kid. It’s not that they are immature or scared of whats around the corner of life. They are playing football, throwing discus and playing video games.Oh im sorry i may have forgotten putting in hours upon hours of hard work in classroom,on the field on and in the weight room.. Just to be a kid…

“I’m not exactly sure where I want to go to college at this point, I just know that I want to stay somewhat close to home,” Eubanks said.” I’m pretty much a home body so moving away wouldn’t be the thing for me.” Jackson currently has a 3.8 GPA

Wow,I am floored..what a second impression to make.A kid with a deep blue and gold bloodline who likes being a kid who on top of all that…Whats to go to college close to home. Earlier this summer at Wofford ,Jackson and his team mates got to Practice with the NFC SOUTH CAROLINA PANTHERS.

The panthers experience was amazing,Jackson said,” the people I usually see on tv and look up to, were standing all right in front of me. He added,” I got to meet their center, Ryan Kalil and all the other lineman such Michael Oher. It was also crazy to think how big they were too, they were like giants compared to us”

Offensive Line Coach Matt Love said, of Jackson who had been named “Offensive Lineman of the Week” twice out of the starters on Vikings Offensive Line,”Jackson is a hard worker. He has a great understanding of the game.”

The loss to Boiling Springs flowed back into the Vikings Locker room in a positive way, according to Eubanks,”The locker room tension was up after the Boiling Springs game and the mood wasn’t to good, but we fixed our mistakes at practice and the locker room only made us tougher and stronger.”

Jackson also knows the importance of the 100th meeting between Vikes and the Indians.”The Gaffney game is going to be a very important game for us because if we win and Dorman wins, then we win our region and would be ranked first seed going into the playoffs which would be a huge advantage for us.” Eubanks continued,”If we lose, then that means that we will be ranked 4th, or last in our division, going into the playoffs…. But I believe we’ll be ready for the game no matter what.”

When I asked Jackson about the unexpected off week he said,”This bye week has helped out team a lot by giving us some time to correct our mistakes and get ready for next week at Gaffney. He went on to say,”I do know from our scouting report that they are a very good team with a solid defensive line.”

I think we all know it’s never going to be easy at Gaffney. This is a the best tradition based high school football game in the state. This Friday I agree with Jackson in that its playoff implications are off the charts.

Offensive lineman don’t really have crazy stats like receivers and linebackers have. They get graded out and Pancake Blocks..

I just know this kid. Jackson Eubanks has served up some Pancakes this season..

and we all know how everyone, not just  kids love Pancakes.
